Winston-Salem Jaycees to Hold Annual Concert to Benefit Burn Victims 8th Annual Concert to be Held on August 28 WINSTON-SALEM, NC (August 21, 2008) – The Winston-Salem Jaycees believe service to humanity is the best work of life, and Thursday, August 28th, the Jaycees will continue in this tradition of community service by hosting the annual Band Aid for Burn Victims concert for the NC Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill. The Burn Center receives the largest amount of their donations annually from the NC Jaycees, from which they base their foundation for research and patient care. 2008 marks the 8th year we, The Winston-Salem Jaycees, have held this event. Local bands donate their time and talent, local businesses donate monetary support to become sponsors, and many volunteers donate many hours to put the entire event together, making each year's show even more of a success than in years prior. This year’s show will feature Doug Davis and the Solid Citizens and Caleb Caudle and the Bayonets. The show will be at The Garage at 110 West 7th Street, Winston-Salem, NC, 27101. The doors open at 8 p.m. The cost is $5 and all proceeds benefit the NC Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill. Ben Marsh, President of the Winston-Salem Jaycees and a Realtor at Prudential, said of the concert, “The NC Jaycees Burn Center does such important work and we are lucky to have a solid project to support it both financially and through awareness. Our partnership with The Garage has helped make this an annual event that grows stronger each year.” This year’s concert chair, Angie Ferree, a local CPA, added, “Through various projects, the Winston-Salem Jaycees have supported the NC Jaycees Burn Center. The Band Aid Concert has become a staple of our programming, and it is nice to have a signature event for such a worthy cause.” This year’s concert is sponsored by RH Barringer, Yes!
